1 Hey everyone! I'm Sami. Im currently a sophomore taking media production and here's my 90 second semester summary of everything that I learned this semester. 2 After unleashing my creativity with the photo alphabet assignment, I was eager to be the best photographer I could be. The first step to this was learning to use my camera to the best of its abilities. 3 We learned how to change the exposure on our cameras to adjust to natural lighting- making sure images are not too dark or too bright, 4 and we learned how to change the shutter speed to create some cool images with light like these ones! 5 The key to making your photos look good is the rule of thirds. This can help to add balance to your photos and create an easy eye line so you will be left with the perfect amount of headspace. 6 This technique was also helpful for podcasts- like our media review podcast and our 60 second photography podcast. When you keep your subject on one of the vertical lines, you will have room to their side for pictures and logos- Just like I am doing right now! 7 We learned how to use garage band to make intro music for podcasts, 8 and premiere to edit our podcasts, as well as to make fun pictures- 9 like levitation photography- by layering two pictures to make a brand new photo. 10 I was able to explore all different kinds of photography using the skills I learned from this class like product photography, pet photography, and even newborn photography! 11 And that's what I learned this semester in media production! I hope you take this course and have just as much fun as I did. Thanks for watching!

To add a good quality youtube clip, go to youtube video downloader YT1S Hi, my name is Sami and welcome to through the lens. The 60 second photography show. Today I'm exploring the first camera phone photo. The first ever photo taken on a camera phone was taken on June 11th 1997 by a man named Philippe Kahn. The picture he took was of his newborn daughter in the hospital. Now at this point in time, smart phones had not existed yet and there was no such thing as a camera phone. What Kahn did was combine a Casio QV digital camera with his Motorola StarTAC flip phone and a Toshiba laptop, this way he could immediately share the image on the web for everyone to see his beautiful baby girl. For the first time ever, Kahn was able to instantly share the image with over 2,000 of his acquaintances around the world, when nobody had ever even sent a digital image to one person. Nowadays camera phone quality has progressed immensely, as people can take a picture of their newborn babies with 10 times the quality, and upload it for 1000 times the people to see in just seconds. I'm Sami, and my 60 seconds is up. And thank you for joining me on through the lens. Be sure to click like and subscribe for more photo history.
